Over thirty-five years ago a closed and boarded up grocery store front in Island Lake caught the attention of a veteran retail food family from Chicago.

The four Martucci brothers renovated the defunct business and five years later took part in the ground breaking of the supermarket which is known as Island Foods. Pictured here are the brothers, from the left: William, Fred, Nick and Leonard. They truly spent their lifetimes in the retail food business. The hard work and dedication will continue in their memory.
